Home, to me

Hi and Welcome!

I’m Danni Harper, founder and principal designer of Danni Harper Design. I’ve been designing homes in the Los Angeles area and beyond for over fifteen years and opened my own studio in 2019. Unless, of course, we are counting doll houses and crayon drawn floor plans, in which case I have been designing for over 30 years! Home has always been a very special place to me, and I am very passionate about making that true for everyone

I love home, and I love design, but home has always been much more to me than the aesthetic design of spaces. Home is a feeling. It has its own energy, a swirling of memories and emotions, scents, textures, and hopefully a warm embrace. Its the feeling that washes over you when you walk in. That feeling when you sit in your favorite spot to decompress after a long day and light your favorite candle. Home is the scents and sounds of dinner cooking, laundry going, and music (or kids, or pets!) in the background.

Home is for comfort, celebration, and safety. The space where we break-down, fall apart, then sleep it off and prepare for a better day tomorrow. The place where we gather our family and friends to share meals, celebrate holidays, birthdays, new chapters in life, and of course, where we work through bad news, hard times, and close chapters as well. Home really does it all and yet we often don’t give it enough attention, or think that it needs it.

I’m a firm believer that home is not just about the selection of sofas and pillows, and not about achieving the perfect aesthetic according to whatever is currently trending. Your home is another reflection of you! It is about creating a space that you feel good in. When you come home it should feel like you and yours. I want you to cook there, enjoy a good meal, and then laugh at a show under the comfort of your favorite blanket. I want your friends to know the smell and the energy of your home and want to be there because it feels so good. I want your home to be a place where memories are made and stored in every single inch.

Home, to me, is a direct reflection of my lifestyle. Home, to me, is everything.
